Free Range DakotaBison ™
Natural Free Range DakotaBison, raised on praire grass and spring water, are now available from one of our all natural, free range Bison ranches throughout the Dakotas.
Bison is an excellent source or protein and iron, yet lower in fat, calories and cholesterol than almost any white or red meat animal other than moose. Free range bison has 1/3 the fat and less cholesterol than skinless chicken. A healthy alternative to endless chicken entrees.
The American Heart Association says that 100 grams of cooked lean pork has 9.66 grams of fat; cooked lean beef has 9.26 grams of fat; chicken has 7.41 grams of fat while 100 grams of lean bison has only 2.42 grams of fat.
Bison are available live, by the half, by the quarter or hanging whole.
The purchase of a whole critter includes the cape, we call them "hides", and the head if you plan to do a mount for your den or cabin.
Hides are the best quality between November and March.
